Why?
How often in pallet logistics is the product fragile, its shape cannot be changed, and its position on the pallet is critical for subsequent processes?
The previous method of securing pallets involved shrink wrapping, which, despite its popularity, generates significant costs and risks in the packaging process.
- hood wrapping with stretch foil, compared to heat-shrinkable technologies, generates:
- energy savings,
- reduced CO2 emissions,
- reduced plastic waste,
- greater process repeatability,
- zero risk of foil burn-through,
- lower material costs,
- higher material recycling rate,
- better sealing.
Challenge
Utrzymać towar o mniejszym obrysie niż nośnik w formie bloku.
Keep goods smaller than the carrier in a block shape.
Bind the block to the carrier.
Provide mechanical protection during transport.
Protect from weather conditions and UV radiation.
Foiling methods
The tests involved simultaneous wrapping using two types of wrap in a hooding machine in two stages:
– a sleeve to stabilize the load,
– a hood to protect the pallet from external factors and secure it to the carrier.
Sleeve + hood for weather protection and additional stabilization of the logical unit.
Advantages of Lintegra’s foil

Carrier – pallet 800 x 1200 mm,
Load – 796 x 980 x 1648 mm
The products were not deformed or damaged.
A double layer of film on the upper corners reduces stress in this area and the risk of film breakage on sharp edges.
A forklift test confirmed adequate load stability during transport.
The hood ensures a high level of packaging tightness.
Additionally, full packaging tightness can be achieved by using a film spacer on the bottom of the pallet, larger than the pallet itself.
For Client
Product safety during transport – the lack of product deformation and damage during testing confirms the high effectiveness of load securing. A film sleeve along the entire height of the pallet increases packaging stability and reduces the risk of shifting during transport.
Increased packaging durability – a double layer of film in the upper corners reduces stress in areas most susceptible to damage. This reduces the risk of film breakage on sharp edges and increases the reliability of the protection.
Load stability during transport – a forklift test confirmed the pallet’s high stability during warehouse handling and internal transport.
Effective protection against external factors and the ability to fully airtight the pallet.
Significant reduction in film and media consumption by eliminating shrink sealing in favor of a faster, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly process using a Lachenmaier hood-type shrink wrapper.
The new packaging solution ensures increased transport safety, greater load stability, and a 42% reduction in film consumption, translating into real savings and a more environmentally friendly packaging process.
